Summary
Mission
The primary goal of this project was to design and develop a high-end real estate platform specializing in luxury homes, tailored for affluent buyers and sellers. The mission was to create a seamless, visually stunning, and highly functional website that would offer an intuitive property search experience, showcase luxury listings with high-resolution media, and integrate advanced features such as AI-powered recommendations, interactive 3D tours, and personalized user dashboards.

My Contribution
As a Web Designer and UI/UX Designer for the Lux List platform, I made key contributions throughout the design process. I conducted extensive user research to understand the needs and expectations of the affluent target audience. Then I created a comprehensive sitemap to map out the website's structure and ensure an intuitive flow of content. Using this foundation, I developed detailed wireframes to visualize the layout and functionality of key pages, focusing on optimizing user interaction. Additionally, I led user testing sessions to gather feedback and iterate on designs, making adjustments based on real user experiences to ensure the final product was both functional and user-friendly.

Discovery
During user testing, several key insights were gathered that significantly influenced the design and functionality of the platform. Users emphasized the importance of a streamlined, intuitive navigation experience, particularly for searching and filtering properties, suggesting that the search functionality needed to be even more refined for quick access to high-end listings. Many users appreciated the interactive 3D tours but requested clearer instructions on how to fully navigate and interact with the virtual tours. Additionally, feedback highlighted the desire for a more personalized experience, with users seeking tailored recommendations and more in-depth property details right at their fingertips. Based on these findings, we made enhancements to improve ease of use, visibility of interactive elements, and integrated more personalized features, ensuring a seamless, luxurious browsing experience.
Planning/Structure
After conducting thorough user research, I moved on to creating the sitemap and wireframes to translate the insights gained into a clear and structured plan for the website's layout and functionality. The research helped identify key user needs and pain points, allowing me to prioritize essential features and determine the most intuitive flow for users. By developing the sitemap, I could establish a solid foundation for the website’s structure, ensuring easy navigation and accessibility to important sections. The wireframes then allowed me to visually represent the user interface, ensuring the design was aligned with the goals of enhancing user experience, functionality, and accessibility.
Web/UI/UX
In the Web Design and UI/UX design phase, I made deliberate choices to create a visually appealing, user-friendly platform that exudes luxury and sophistication. I chose dark teal and gold as accent colors for buttons to evoke a sense of elegance and exclusivity. The majority of the website is white to create a clean, minimalistic background that allows the properties themselves to take center stage. I opted for cards to display the homes because they offer a visually organized and efficient way to present essential property details at a glance. This allows users to quickly assess key information, such as price, location, and size, before diving deeper into individual property pages. The overall minimal design was intentionally chosen to maintain a luxurious and refined feel. A clean, uncluttered interface creates a sense of sophistication, ensuring that users experience the website as both modern and high-end.
User Testing & Redesign
During user testing, feedback indicated that the Agent Finder feature was not as intuitive or widely used as anticipated, and users expressed a preference for a more streamlined experience. As a result, we decided to remove the Agent Finder feature from the platform. Additionally, we also removed the Home Loans section, as it was not as relevant to the core needs of our target audience. By eliminating these sections, we were able to simplify the site’s navigation, focusing more on the key features that users found most valuable. This allowed for a cleaner, more intuitive interface that enhanced the overall user experience.
